When we enter into the Pisces New Moon, we enter into the archetype of the Mystic. When we are greeted by the mystic, it is time to LET GO. It is time to remember that we are surrounded by the imaginal and creative world. We live in the symbolic realm and whether we like it or not, the unconscious has a powerful grip on us. The mystery is ever-present, lulling us into her arms if we allow her. As James Hollis writes in his book, The Archetypal Imagination, "The task of the [mystic] is to bring us into proximity with the sacred."

This brings me to the story of Leilani, the ten-year old girl I met yesterday while Heathar and I were swimming at the river. Leilani told us that she lived on the Hopi reservation north of Flagstaff. I, of course, asked her when her birthday was. She said, "February 11th." February 11th isn't just any day. It's also the day of my nephew's birthday. It's the day of my first solo home birth I participated in and midwifed. The birth where Heathar and I fell in love and ushered our nephew into the world.

Venus and the Sun are sitting together right now in Pisces (In Sidereal Astrology).
They are also joined by Mercury and Chiron in Pisces. We are deep in the veil of the mystery, of the mist. We are deep in the time of the unknown, the veil, the fog. We are swimming in the depths of the ocean, almost ready to come up for air, but not quite yet.

In a week or so there will be a shift, we will come up for air into the fire of Aires -- into the birthing of the new. But for now, we can relish these last few days with the darkness, with retreat time, with slowness. We can allow ourselves to be surrounded by beauty, love and rest. It is not yet the time of quickness. Things may still feel timeless, slow, unclear. But as it always does, the new birth will come. The fire will be lit and it will be roaring soon enough.

For now, go into nature, make love, slow down, sleep, rest, spend a day in stillness and silence. There is a reason for the mist and the fog. Out of the darkness, comes profound life.

It's Full Moon time - the time when we celebrate the fullness of life, what has been culminated and cultivated during the last month.

I'm celebrating the culmination of a couple of things today:
1) The 7 students who are enrolled in Star School for the next 12 weeks. It has been a dream of my lifetime to teach other people how to hold space and give astrology readings. I couldn't be more thrilled. Not only has this been building for the past month, but for the past decade. It's finally here.
2) The beauty and warmpth of the place I live. No place is perfect, no place is without flaw. But there is something to choosing Home, to choosing Place, to choosing a sense of Rootedness. Choosing Sedona has not been easy or always clear. It has been an unexpected and mysterious journey. But we're home. We're here and today, we're going to go lay in the sun by the river. I am celebrating deep rest after months of working, creating and going to grad school - today, I rest. Today, I let the healing powers of Virgo work their magic.

Here’s something I often find myself saying: “I can’t wait to do _________ when I finally have more time.” And you know what happens when I have more time? I clean the toilet. I do the laundry. I vacuum behind the bed. Yea, I like to clean — I’m OCD like that. But often, the things I think I want to do when I have free time, are not the things I end up doing.

In order to do the things we want to do and love to do, we need more than time.
We need a psyche switch.
Often times, it is not the TIME that blocks us from doing what we want, it’s the mindset.

There are SO MANY reasons we’ve made up not to do what we love.
Many of them are unconscious.

Sometimes my reasons are as follows:
1) What if it’s not good enough when I do start?
2) What if I waste my time?
3) I have to be spending all my time making and earning money.
4) What if I neglect what I should be doing in order to do what I want to do?
5) I’m not really being productive.

These beliefs and thoughts have nothing to do with having time and everything to do with me blocking myself from doing what I want. Waiting to do what we want feels like a BURDEN. It feels heavy.
*
Star School is an opportunity to step into something you WANT to do. Something that will add depth, value and money to your life. (You know you can make money as an astrologer right?) The limiting beliefs are real, I get them. But sometimes we need a little nudge — a nudge from the cosmos or maybe even a nudge from me.

I’m here, nudging you. I’m encouraging you. Come hang out with me and other badass women for 12 weeks. Let yourself learn something that will change your life. It will change the way you interact with your kids and your partner. It will change the way you see the world.
